The House Without a Christmas Tree

12.04.17

This holiday season, the Houston Grand Opera will host the world premiere of The House Without a Christmas Tree adapted from the story of the same name from author Gail Rock by Ricky Ian Gordon and Royce Vavrek. The premiere is in the HGO Resilience Theater at the George R. Brown Convention Center which is less than 10 minutes from The Whitehall Houston. The opera tells the story of Addie Mills, a smart and energetic young woman who does not understand her father’s negative opinion of the Christmas season. When she brings home a Christmas tree, she opens the door for understanding, forgiveness, and new hope for her family. A tearjerker for sure, The House Without a Christmas Tree captures the beauty and redemptive power of the holiday season. With performances on December 8, 10, 14, 16, and 17, you will not want to miss the beginning of what will quickly become a new holiday favorite.
