New Worlds with Bill Murray

04.03.18

When you hear the name Bill Murray, the first things you probably think of are classic comedy films like Caddy Shack, Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, and Stripes. However, his new project, New Worlds: Bill Murray, Jan Vogler, and Friends, is a bit of a departure from his comedic roots. This unique piece of performance art consists of Murray singing and reading from classics of American Literature while accompanied by Vogler and two other members of a classical trio. You can experience this unique performance by one of America’s most beloved and talented actors on April 16 at Jones Hall, about a mile from the Whitehall Houston. Highlights of the show include Murray reading from Huckleberry Finn to a background of classical music and his on take on the Van Morrison hit “When Will I Ever Learn to Live in God.” With this new project, Murray and Vogler attempt to get at the root of what America truly is, and the results are truly remarkable.
